Spanish Colonial Home

I really should take a picture of my own home and give it a re-do. Every time I edit one of these houses I get so excited that I wouldn't mind doing all of the actual work too! They end up looking soooooo good :D. (I'm working on the humility thing.)

Here's another home that looks fantastic (of course, it wasn't exactly hideous to begin with). I got rid of the plants blocking the view, pulled together some color options, and they wanted a tile roof. I also thought it would be nice to add a header above the window and maybe the door.

They liked the darker colors, so we stuck with that and tried out some more options. Is anyone feeling as giddy as I am yet?

Wrought iron anyone?

Stitching Pictures and Painting

Here's another homeowner that was considering painting her brick. I took out the tree and connected the first two pictures so that she could better see what the house might look like.

Playing Catch Up

Wow, I've been busy! I didn't expect so many people to be interested in makeovers--especially exterior ones. (I guess it has been good weather for that sort of thing. . . ) This blog has been somewhat lacking because of it, I am sad to say. We also have a brand new baby in our house. I won't include a picture now, but you can trust me--she's adorable.
Hopefully within the next few weeks I'll be able to put up all of the makeovers. I know you're all sitting on the edge of your seat ;). Here's one of them to help tie you over.
This family wanted to see what their kitchen would look like in cream with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. I was happy to oblige, that is, after I cleaned up all the drool off of my keyboard.

And now a question: Is it possible to prepare bad food in a kitchen like this? Okay, there are a few outdated things (the backsplash, the tiles around the hood, the appliances), but those things can be fixed. See?

Next Question: Could you die?

Here are some more ideas I showed them from a different angle. I wanted the island and the rest of the cabinetry to contrast a bit--all the same looked too matchy-matchy to me. What do you think of it?
I'm linking this post up to Thrifty Decor Chic's Before and After Party. I'm guessing if you like before and after pics, you might like my blog at least a little bit :D.

A {FAM}tastic! Table

One of my friends has an awesome design blog (I've only known about it for a few months, but she's already inspired me to start/envision at least three projects--including covering my office chair, building my own headboard, and making roman shades. Make sure you check it out HERE.)

Recently, she posted THIS, and I thought I would go ahead and help her out since it wouldn't take long. I don't have the before pic, but you can see it on her blog :D.

More on the Lamp Re-Vamp!

Now I can't wait to actually do this project. The Nester inspired me to try experimenting with different ideas for her lampapalooza. I found this lamp for 5 dollars--I already have a finial for .50 cents, as well as the spray paint. Now I just need to find the perfect fabric. . .

I'm having a baby girl--a good soft lamp would be nice to have in her room.

Then again . . . Hubs is building me a guest room in the basement, and our old furniture (way cute, but I've had it since I was 15 and it's time for a change) is going down there. It's wood with a light green stain--more country. I want our new room to be HOT--more classy.

I also really want more of that blue in my living room--(see previous post)--decisions, decisions.

I have a thing for beige--and apparently damask. No frills with the beige--it's beautiful in its simplicity.
Let me know what you think. Which way does this lamp appeal most to you?

And be sure to look at the other lamps at the nesting place.

Lamp Re-Vamp

Here's an old lamp I found at a yard sale. I'm always looking for cheap ways to spruce up the house, and this lamp was calling to me. There are so many possibilities. I'm not exactly sure which one I want to try. Just one for now--I'll post a few more after I eat the wonderful dinner Hubs made me :D.

This blue lamp would look fabulous with my blue accent wall in my living room. . . but be sure to check back for my next post and tell me which one is your favorite :D

Rearrangement Revisit

AFTER:
BEFORE: Do you remember Melissa's Room? Her furniture is well-placed, but I wanted to give her another option. I can't be exactly sure on the scale of the mirror and the dresser given the angle of the photograph--but this should be close. The tall dresser is meant to be on an angle, so the eye can follow the furniture around the room without stopping at sharp angles. If there weren't a closet door to the left of the dresser, I might have also added a white chair with a round back and a wispy, tied-on chair cover that didn't go far past the seat.
